WHEREAS, Washington State voter turn out has recently been extremely low; and,

WHEREAS, The Washington State Republican Party (WSRP)

encourages participation in the political process and voter turn-out; and,
WHEREAS, The Presidential nominee is normally already known prior to
Washington voters making their choice which discourages participation; and,
WHEREAS, moving up the Washington State presidential primary to an earlier
date would increase participation andbring more revenue and national
attention to the state,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, The WRSP supports the effort to move
up the Washington State presidential primary to the 3rd week in February making it a first 5 state.
THEREFORE, BE IT ALSO RESOLVED, The WSRP encourages and requests
That state legislators would move forward with Legislation that would move the WA State Primary to this earlier date.
